Coach Lee Williams brings over 17 years of coaching expertise combined with more than two decades of overall basketball experience, thanks to his collegiate playing days at Hardin Simmons University and the University of Texas at El Paso. As the inaugural head coach of Horizon High School’s boys’ basketball team in El Paso, Texas, he quickly transformed the program. Despite a challenging first season with limited upperclassmen, Coach Williams led Horizon to playoff contention in just the second year, earning a reputation for his defense-first philosophy and emphasis on sound fundamentals. During his tenure, he developed numerous all-district players and coached three athletes to El Paso Times All-City honors.

In 2010, Coach Williams paused his coaching career to provide support, care, and financial assistance to his grandmother, Ruby Elaine Brown. The following year, he founded the Fusion basketball organization to redefine youth basketball culture in the El Paso and New Mexico regions. Under his leadership, over 96 percent of Fusion’s players have advanced to collegiate sports—one even excelling in both volleyball and basketball. The organization’s success on regional and national stages culminated in a significant partnership with Adidas in 2014, further solidifying his impact on the sport.
